An update has emerged about Leicester midfielder Dennis Praet, regarding his situation at the club.

What’s the talk?

According to The Athletic, Dennis Praet is becoming unsettled at Leicester due to a lack of game time and could push for a move this summer. Praet was using sparingly by Rodgers last term and the Belgian is now said to be weighing up his options ahead of next season.

The report claims that the expected signing of Boubakary Soumare will push Praet further down the pecking order and increase the limits on his game time. Soumar is set to join the Foxes from Ligue 1 giants Lille and will compete for a spot in the midfield three.

Rodgers doesn’t need him

Jon Rudkin must ensure that he ruthlessly axes Praet from the King Power Stadium this summer. Leicester do not need players at the club who do not want to be there and they should not risk the chance of upsetting the mood in the changing room by keeping the Belgian at the club.

If he is interested in leaving because he is not happy with where he sits within the squad, then Rudkin must find him a suitable transfer in the coming months and get him away from Brendan Rodgers’ squad.

It would be a shame as Praet enjoyed some impressive displays in his first season in the Midlands. In February of last year, Rodgers praised the “excellent” midfielder for his performances in a Leicester shirt during his debut campaign with the club. The former Liverpool boss highlighted his versatility and discipline after he was shifted into a holding midfield role.

He told the Leicester Mercury:

“Every time he’s played, he’s been good or he’s been excellent. He always gives something to the team. He’s not naturally a defensive midfielder, but he has the discipline.”

However, his fortunes have changed in the 16 months since those quotes from Rodgers. Praet ended the campaign with 10 Premier League starts to his name and 15 appearances in total, with a disappointing WhoScored rating of 6.41. This shows that the £77k-per-week maestro has struggled in England recently and has regressed into a player Rodgers does not need in his squad.

With Soumare now coming in to add to their midfield ranks alongside the likes of Wilfred Ndidi, Youri Tielemans, James Maddison, Nampalys Mendy and Hamza Choudhury, Praet may not get much of a look-in next season. Therefore, Rudkin should axe him from the squad, allowing him to find a new club and getting an unhappy player out of the dressing room.

AND in other news, Rudkin must avoid grave Leicester error over “colossal” beast, Rodgers would be fuming…

A player who accumulates the appropriate number of demerit points in any 12-month period will receive an automatic suspension.An ECB Disciplinary Panel may consider taking further action if it considers the offence warrants a tougher penalty than the minimum provided under the fixed penalty procedures. The ECB anticipates, however, that generally the fixed penalty will suffice to meet the seriousness of the offence. Fixed penalties will be generated by umpires reporting a player to the ECB but on the field procedures for the umpires remain unchanged – there are no yellow or red cards.Commenting on the new system, Alan Fordham, (ECB Cricket Operations Manager), said, “While we recognise that on-field behaviour had not seriously declined, this new system is designed to assist umpires and is aimed at being fair and consistent. On “Grandstand” – BBC TV’s sports programme – it was decided to mark the occasion by mounting an elaborate hoax featuring cricket. Consequently, I was despatched to the Sussex county ground to film the action that went towards making a programme item that was realistic enough to fool a lot of people.The basis of it was that so many Championship matches finished early, making it difficult for commercial departments to sell the last day to corporate sponsors who could not be sure of having any cricket to put before their clients and guests. To counter this, there was to be a 20-over competition played when the “real” game finished before schedule.The pitch was to be lengthened to 24 yards in order to negate fast bowling, there were runs deducted if a batsman played out a maiden over, two instances of “one hand, one bounce” meant that the batsman was out, and there were only 30 seconds available for the batsman to get to the middle at the fall of a wicket before he could be timed out. There were innovative umpiring signals introduced to cover the new decisions, while the officials had the power to send players to a sin-bin for bad behaviour.We filmed a demonstration match performed (and that is the correct word!) by the Sussex players, and conducted interviews with all and sundry. Paul Parker, the Sussex captain at the time, had to have several goes at his interview because he could not keep a straight face, while coach Norman Gifford and commercial manager Jim Parks gave considered views on the impact of the new competition.To give some scarcely-needed credibility to the whole thing, we conducted an interview with the retiring marketing manager of the then Test and County Cricket Board, Peter Lush, who, unprompted, came out with a marvellous line about this new competition being the way to promote cricket to the American market.As an April Fool, it was a huge success. Viewers wrote in to complain about the further ruination of the game, and several people made a point of conveying their distaste for the idea to me personally. I can clearly remember watching the piece go out and saying to the assembled company in the studio: “I just hope the TCCB weren’t watching or they’ll try to implement it!”The years have rolled by and the TCCB has given way to the England and Wales Cricket Board, whose First-Class Forum have just announced that, as from the 2003 season, there will be – yes, you’ve guessed it – a 20-over-a-side competition in the schedule of matches.The “innovations” that we introduced all those years ago will not be in use. The quite admirable aim of the competition, as described by chief executive Tim Lamb is to introduce “another very positive development for the future of cricket in this country. It’s essential that we reach out and appeal to a new generation of young cricket followers, and this new competition is designed to do exactly that.”All we can hope is that it achieves its aim and brings in that new generation of cricket enthusiasts and they, in turn, grow to like the real thing. Nobody can doubt the sincerity of the intention; we must just hope that it is not the game itself that is being made to wear the hat with the bells.

AAtos Brasil, empresa de consultoria na área de tecnologia da informação e que atuou nos Jogos Olímpicos de 2016, cumprirá as fases de implantação e hospedagem do sistema. A própria SAP cumpre as etapas iniciais, de licença e manutenção.Um dos entusiastas do projeto é o diretor de TI do Tricolor, Mário Quezada. Os programas da SAP ajudam ainda a controlar de forma mais rígida o planejamento orçamentário e deixaram Morumbi, CT da Barra Funda e Cotia mais integrados, um sonho antigo de conselheiros e dirigentes.

Além disso, o software SAP 4 Hana (Aplicação Analítica de Alta Performance, traduzido da sigla em inglês) pode entrar no pacote no futuro para auxiliar no desenvolvimento do departamento de futebol, mais especificamente na área de análise de desempenho e estatísticas. Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa must land Spain star Adama Traore amid David Norris’ transfer claim.

What’s the story?

Reports in recent days have suggested that the Whites are interested in signing the Wolves winger, with claims back in December revealing that Bielsa’s side were keen on luring him to Elland Road.

Norris has delivered his verdict on Leeds’ potential move for Traore. Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, he said: “He likes them attacking, exciting players that can create. They still must work hard, but the way he’s been in the last couple of seasons, and how much of a danger he is and how much he an create, I think that would be a great signing. Leeds are looking for top players and I think he’s a top player.”

Game-changer for Bielsa

Dubbed a “machine” and someone who’s “been scaring defenders” by former Leeds defender Rio Ferdinand in January 2020, the £100,000-a-week Traore has the kind of game-changing pace and ability which could terrify the rest of the Premier League just like he has done at Wolves.

Averaging an impressive 4.1 dribbles per game – the highest in the entire Premier League last season – and being fouled 2.3 times per match, the third-most in the division, Traore is a relentless dribbler who’s a nightmare for opposition defences.

Indeed, Bielsa himself has previously admitted to how tough a player Traore is to mark, saying: “It’s better to follow the man than leave him to a team-mate. I believe, fundamentally, Traore likes to play out wide on the wings. If he dominates the ball on his side he’s difficult to start, so whoever’s marking him will need some support.”

Hailed as “unplayable” by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp following an impressive display against the Reds back in January 2020, the £27m-rated Spaniard is currently at Euro 2020, so a move may only be made once La Roja’s involvement in the competition ends.

If Leeds can pull off a deal for the 25-year-old, they could terrify the rest of the Premier League with one of the division’s most dangerous attackers.

Meanwhile, this Leeds United transfer target would be a major upgrade…

He later left for Lahore by 6:30pm flight. Interestingly, the New Zealand flew for Singapore on way to Christchurch by the 7:25pm flight.Another PCB official vanished from the depressing morning scenes and left matters in the hands of director Brig Munawar Rana who kept a cool head and tactfully handled the tricky situation. He was seen interacting with the visitors, the home team players and match officials.The most disgusting conduct was shown by another senior PCB official who approached the New Zealand cricketers at noon and demanded the refund of daily allowances for the remaining days of the tour.New Zealand, who were scheduled to leave on May 13, were entitled a daily allowance of Rs2,000 which was delivered to them for eight days when they arrived in the city Monday. The total amount paid to the board to the touring contingent was Rs288,000.The visitors, who felt humiliated, virtually threw the money in Stephen Fleming’s room while expressing anger. Later, team managaer Jeff Crowe took the matter to the PCB director who apologized on behalf of the PCB.Probably scared by the events and fearing his own life, the man in charge for the team officials also left for Lahore by 6.30pm flight leaving behind disappointed and bewildered match officials Mike Procter, Rudi Koertzen and Steve Bucknor.The three were later rescued by the liaison officer of New Zealand team who ensured that the trio boarded the Emirates flight for Dubai at 11:00pm. Also on the flight was Crowe who was unhappy with the way his team was treated.”I am disappointed because we were left all alone. I tried to locate General Manager Operation, Zakir Khan, but he was not available. Anyway, we were rescued by our team’s liaison officer,” Crowe said shortly before his departure.Crowe had returned to the hotel after seeing off his team that left the hotel under state protocol at 4:30pm. Recent reports from Portugual have suggested that Porto are yet to make a concrete bid for Alfredo Morelos, which could be a big boost for Steven Gerrard’s hopes of keeping him at Ibrox this summer.

What’s the word?

According to reports from Record (via Sport Witness), the Liga NOS side have not made a bid for the Colombia international and aren’t even in negotiations with Morelos or Rangers, with previous reports of a €12m bid rubbished in this latest article.

If true, this is undoubtedly good news for Gerrard, who will be desperate to keep Rangers’ record European goalscorer at Ibrox this summer as he oversees the Gers’ return to the Champions League.

The 41-year-old manager was full of praise for his striker when he broke Ally McCoist’s goalscoring record, saying:

“It’s fantastic for him from a personal point of view. Alfredo’s a top-class player, a top-class goalscorer, and it’s fantastic that he’s still here.”

Will Morelos leave?

Morelos had been linked with a move to Porto in recent months as his impressive performances in Scotland continue to attract the interest of clubs abroad.

Although Rangers can now boast a league title and the chance of playing in the Champions League next season, Porto are guaranteed a spot in the group stages of Europe’s elite competition and will also undoubtedly be challenging for the title in Portugal, so it may have been difficult for Morelos to turn them down.

However, if this latest report is true and Porto are yet to submit a bid, then perhaps their interest in the striker isn’t genuine and he will remain at Ibrox this summer, and with the Champions League qualifiers on the horizon, Rangers may well be able to convince him to stay with their own offer of a spot in the group stages should they progress.
