The MCC has selected a blend of youthful promise, Test experience and county stalwarts for the traditional season opener against the County Champions starting on March 29.This year is a landmark for the fixture, with the match not being played at Lord’s for the first time. Instead the game, against Durham, will take place under lights in the Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi with a pink ball, in an attempt to research the feasibility of Test cricket under lights.Gloucestershire captain and former MCC Young Cricketer Alex Gidman will lead the side that includes Mark Ramprakash, who, at 40, continues to dominate domestic attacks. Also in the ranks are two players who will be eager to impress national selectors: Leicestershire’s James Taylor, the Cricket Writers’ Club and PCA Young Player of the Year for 2009, and Middlesex and England Lions paceman Steve Finn.In a lively fast-bowling pack, Finn will be joined by Gloucestershire’s Steve Kirby, and Chris Tremlett, who is trying to resurrect his international career with a move of from current county Hampshire. O São Paulo definiu como meta alcançar 47 pontos para escapar de vez do rebaixamento no Brasileiro, e os jogadores têm repetido isso frequentemente. Mas, na prática, o time se acomodou bem antes, como ficou comprovado mais uma vez nesta quarta-feira: jogando mal, a equipe perdeu por 1 a 0 para o Grêmio, em Porto Alegre (RS).

O Tricolor paulista estava invicto há cinco jogos, mas, na Arena do Grêmio, atingiu a terceira partida consecutiva sem vitória. A equipe estaciona nos 45 pontos, e só uma catastrófica combinação de resultados pode culminar com a queda para a Série B. E os jogadores parecem estar conscientes demais disso.

O Grêmio usou o compromisso como último ensaio antes de iniciar a disputa da final da Libertadores, na próxima semana. Aproveitou-se da apatia são-paulina, balançou as redes com Kannemann, aos 33 minutos do primeiro tempo, e ainda se manteve na vice-liderança do Brasileiro, agora com 61 pontos.

O time gaúcho nem precisou se impor, tampouco precisou dominar o
confronto. O São Paulo, apenas com Araruna como novidade, no lugar do suspenso Militão na lateral direita, apenas ocupou o ataque por alguns minutos, mas sem dar trabalho a Marcelo Grohe. A bola travava em
Hernanes e Marcos Guilherme.

O Grêmio tinha a posse, e achou seu gol em um cochilo dos paulistas.
Após cobrança de escanteio, a zaga de Dorival Júnior parou e deixou Geromel completamente livre para cruzar. A bola ainda rebateu antes de acertar Kannemann e ir às redes.

Dorival tentou melhorar o time, e ganhou movimentação ofensiva com Lucas Fernandes no lugar de Maicosuel, mas nada além disso. O jogador mais importante era o goleiro Sidão, que salvava a equipe. O Tricolor paulista foi à frente, com Júnior Tavares e Gilberto nos lugares de Pratto e Araruna. Mas as tentativas não resultaram em nada além de uma pressão na área, além de um gol de Pratto anulado por impedimento, aos 27 minutos do segundo tempo. Muito pouco para quem já ousou sonhar em terminar o ano com vaga na Libertadores.

No domingo, às 17h, em seu último jogo como mandante no Pacaembu,
o São Paulo tenta se reabilitar diante do Botafogo. Já o Grêmio, provavelmente cheio de reservas em campo, visita o Santos, na Vila Belmiro, às 19h de domingo.

Dickie is said to be one of those, with The Athletic now explaining that West Ham are eyeing up a possible move for the 25-year-old this month as they are ‘credited with interest’.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Newcastle United’s pursuit of Lille centre-back Sven Botman is hotting up as they look to add the Dutchman to their ranks this month.

Newcastle have reportedly submitted an improved bid for the 21-year-old defender who is the Magpies’ top target for the transfer window. The Dutchman is reportedly keen on a move to the North East.

Botman has made 17 Ligue 1 appearances for the reigning French champions so far this season, who haven’t enjoyed a campaign similar to that of last year with Jocelyn Gourvennec’s side sat in 8th place.

However, the 21-year-old was a kingpin last season as Lille went on to win their first league title in 10 years, making 47 appearances in all competitions, keeping 21 clean sheets in the process.

It is no wonder that Botman is Newcastle’s main target for this transfer window with the Toon Army’s defensive woes being an issue for numerous seasons.

This campaign, in particular, has been a struggle for Eddie Howes’ side with Newcastle the Premier League’s joint-worst defenders, conceding 42 goals in their 19 games.

Moreover, the Tyneside club remains in a precarious position as they’re currently sat in 19th place with the threat of relegation still very real.

Newcastle haven’t quite had a defender as influential as Fabricio Coloccini since the Argentinian left the North-East in 2016 with the likes of Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schär, Ciaran Clark and Federico Fernandez struggling to make a similar impact.

However, Botman could prove to be the closest the Magpies have come to replacing the services of their former centre-back, with the £27m-rated Lille man labelled “a great player” by legendary ex-defender Paulo Maldini.

The 39-year-old was a colossus for Newcastle, making 275 appearances for the Tyneside club, 211 of which in the Premier League in which he kept 51 clean sheets.

With Howe struggling to plug the gap at the back, the 21-year-old defender could prove to be a revelation, with there being little doubt that the Netherlands U-21 centre-back would be a vast improvement on the Magpies’ current options.

There is little doubt that Newcastle’s new Saudi owners will be spending this transfer window and have already made their first statement signing, adding right-back Kieran Trippier to their ranks from Atletico Madrid.

Briga contra o rebaixamento, inconstância dentro de campo e pressão da torcida por conta dos maus resultados. A temporada do São Paulo passou muito longe de ser aquilo que os tricolores esperavam nesta mesma época do ano passado. Mesmo assim, é possível enxergar aspectos positivos e melhorá-los ainda mais para a temporada que está por vir. Quem garante isso é o peruano Cueva, o principal responsável pelo setor criativo da equipe de Dorival Júnior e também da seleção de seu país.

– Somos conscientes de que não foi um ótimo ano, mas podemos dar alegrias no próximo ano, com vaga na Sul-Americana, sair campeão. Penso que temos um grupo para corrigir as coisas deste ano para o ano que vem, admitiu o atleta nesta terça (28), no CT da Barra Funda.

O jogador, responsável pela criação das jogadas de ataque do Tricolor, não se esquivou das perguntas e admitiu que a temporada ruim vivida pela equipe não é culpa exclusiva dos jogadores de defesa. Na visão do peruano, todo o elenco tem sua parcela de erro. Contudo, o ano de 2017 já está quase no passado e com o São Paulo garantido na próxima edição da Copa Sul-Americana, o foco é colocar o clube de volta na lista dos protagonistas do futebol brasileiro.

– Sempre falaram que estávamos tomando muitos gols, e culpavam a defesa. Mas penso que nunca deve se culpar defesa e goleiros por isso, porque os 11 atacam e defendem hoje. Corrigimos isso. Tomamos consciência da necessidade defensiva de todos e, logicamente, a parte ofensiva é de todos. São algumas das coisas que mudaram e fizeram bem para nós. Temos um grande grupo humano e, se tivéssemos mantido uma estabilidade de ganhar jogos, brigaríamos por um torneio ou título. Mas agora é pensar no positivo, no que melhoramos, para terminar da melhor maneira, pontuou o são-paulino.

Nesta temporada, o camisa 10 soma 42 jogos com a camisa do Tricolor. Ao todo, o meio-campista balançou as redes adversárias em dez oportunidades (cinco delas apenas no Paulistão) e distribuiu 11 assistências. Apesar do bom ano defendendo as três cores do clube do Morumbi, foi pela seleção de seu país que Cueva mais se destacou. O peruano foi um dos principais jogadores do time comandado pelo ex-palmeirense Ricardo Gareca na conquista da vaga para a Copa do Mundo da Rússia, no ano que vem.

– Uma parte dessa classificação é pelo São Paulo, que me deu oportunidade, de manter nível alto em um clube como esse e na liga brasileira, pude ajudar a seleção da melhor maneira. Estou feliz porque atingimos o objetivo. Não consegui coisas com São Paulo, mas estou muito feliz e agradeço a oportunidade de classificar o Peru, finalizou o meia armador, fazendo questão de agradecer a estrutura oferecida pelo clube do Morumbi.

Expectativa para o jogo de domingo

– Temos que terminar o ano ganhando. Se ganharmos, teremos alguma chance de ir à Libertadores. Mas, mesmo sem isso, temos que ganhar como agradeicmento por tudo que a torcida fez conosco desde o início. É uma torcida que merece aplausos, temos que agradecer ganhando e, no ano que vem, corrigir os erros para conquistar um título.

Torcerá para Grêmio e Flamengo serem campeões, respectivamente, da Libertadores e da Sul-Americana?

Torço por qualquer um que possa nos dar vaga na Libertadores. Mas não penso que Sul-Americana é algo pequeno. Agora, temos que pensar em terminar o ano ganhando no domingo, nos preparando para o ano que vem, sabendo que estamos na Sul-Americana. Queremos sair campeões no ano que vem, quero ser campeão no São Paulo.

Sobre semelhanças com o futebol de Ganso

Admiro muito o futebol dele, sempre o vi jogar, é uma pessoa que admiro muito. Os dois jogadores que sempre vou mirar já não jogam mais, são Ronaldinho e Ronaldo, mas admiro muito o Ganso. Não joguei junto com ele, mas sei que é um cara legal. Ele está em uma equipe muito importante na Espanha, e trato de fazer meu trabalho no São Paulo.

Sobre o carinho recebido da torcida no jogo contra o Botafogo

Me senti feliz, lógico. Todos se sentem importantes quando a torcida apoia. Não foi a primeira vez, a torcida apoia todos. Eu, pessoalmente, me senti feliz, tenho carinho e respeito por eles, porque sempre estiveram juntos, nos bons e maus momentos.

Permanece no clube em 2018?

Seria desrespeitoso falar em ir embora. Tenho contrato. Nunca descarto a possibilidade de conseguir meu sonho, meu objetivo. Mas, até o momento, sou jogador do São Paulo. Não há nada a falar sobre isso.

Atraso na reapresentação ao clube

Já falei desse tema com a diretoria. Cheguei a poucas horas do jogo, ajudei como podia. Já falamos, e são coisas que eu, como pessoa, também tenho que corrigir.

The Tigers closed the second day at 3 for 251, still needing 76 runs to take the lead after their fast bowler Adam Griffith completed an outstanding comeback with a five-wicket haul.Griffith had not played for Tasmania since late 2007 after suffering a serious knee injury that required a reconstruction. In his first game back he was the pick of the bowlers with 5 for 85, including two wickets on the second morning as Queensland added 82 to their overnight total.Ed Cowan (22) and Lockyear gave the Tigers a good start with a 61-run opening stand before Nathan Reardon had Cowan caught behind. Lockyear and Doolan continued to build and took the score to 1 for 167 with Lockyear passing his best first-class score but he failed to post a maiden century when he was caught behind off Luke Feldman for 85.Ben Cutting picked up the other wicket, that of Doolan for 66, before George Bailey (49 not out) and Daniel Marsh (21 not out) steered Tasmania to stumps with no further losses. If the Tigers take a first-innings lead they will be extra keen to push for an outright win, as they sit second-last on the competition table.

واختتم: “فيوتشر اتفق مع اللاعبين على أن يتحمل راتبيهما لمدة موسم، لكن الأهلي رفض انتقالهما بدون مقابل مادي وطلب مبلغا معينا، ولم يتوصل الطرفان لاتفاق في النهاية وهو ما عرقل الصفقة”.

Nesta quinta-feira, o Atlético-MG inaugurou, na Cidade do Galo, três campos de futebol de tamanho oficial. O complexo foi batizado com o nome do ex-conselheiro José Nepomuceno Silva, pai do atual presidente Daniel Nepomuceno, que comentou a intenção do investimento feito pelo clube.

– Temos o melhor CT da América, mas não adianta só pegar o título de melhor CT, é preciso trabalhar, continuar investindo. O Atlético é uma fábrica de paixão e uma fábrica de jogadores, então, vejo isso aqui como um investimento para que surjam novos talentos e também para valorizar os profissionais que aqui trabalham, sempre buscando colocar o clube no patamar mais alto possível – declarou o presidente do Atlético.

Além de um dos campos contar com uma arquibancada que tem capacidade para suportar mil pessoas, todos contam com um sistema de irrigação automatizada e acesso independente da entrada principal do CT.

A continuidade da obra na Cidade do Galo, que começou na metade de 2016, deve se dar com a construção de três vestiários, banheiros para o público, sala de imprensa e almoxarifado.
