Hosein joined the team in the bus to the Shere Bangla National Stadium around noon. By the end of the night, he was bowling the Super Over for West Indies, defending ten runs.Hosein had an unfavourable match-up with the left-handed Soumya Sarkar taking strike. He started off with a wide and then a no-ball. Bangladesh got four runs without facing a legal ball. Hosein somehow managed to salvage the over from there, avoiding getting hit for a boundary, even though he did concede one more wide with four needed off the last ball. So he had to go again and this time he kept his lines and gave up just one run.”I don’t think I have anything left in me again, buddy,” Hosein said after bringing West Indies back from the brink to level the series 1-1. “Got to the hotel at 4:00am. But it’s part of the job, and once you commit to something and once you give your word, you better be ready to turn up and give 100%. No excuses, and I almost messed it up, but thankfully, you know, I took the team home in the end.”Hosein is a world-class limited-overs performer but this was his first ODI in two years. Hosein managed to get the ball to turn into the left-hander’s body when Sarkar and Najmul Hossain Shanto were on strike. Against Saif Hassan, he bowled over the wicket, not allowing the right-hander to free his arms.”It’s a tricky pitch,” he said. “It’s not one that is turning at a fair pace. The ball is jumping a bit, so for me, to the left-hander, it was definitely to make him hit square. He’s [Sarkar] quite a powerful guy, so I think that if he has arms, he can hit through the line easily.”So, for me, it was just trying to spin the ball from as close as possible on a good length and force him to hit square, because that square boundary was quite big.”Hosein had faced a similar situation, in the Hundred last year. He didn’t have to bowl the Super Over back then, but did bowl the final set that pushed the game into overtime.”I have been in a situation like this,” Hosein said. “It was an Eliminator in the Hundred. And one ball [the no-ball] went for six, and then they needed two [three] off four [five] balls or something.”I remember Chris Jordan coming up to me, and he said, ‘don’t worry, you got this.’ and I said to myself, ‘if he can believe that I have this, with two [three] runs to go, Liam Livingstone, world-class hitter on strike, with four [five] balls to go, if Chris Jordan can believe, why can’t I believe?'”Hosein said that he was surprised not to see Rishad Hossain come out to bat in the Super Over on Tuesday. West Indies believed the lower-order batter who had confidently struck an unbeaten 39 off 14 balls earlier in the game, was the obvious choice for Bangladesh.”Yes, I was a bit surprised. I mean, the guy that seemed to do the most destruction in the match, 39 off about 14 deliveries not out, and he’s not in your Super Over, hitting to the short side where he struck two sixes.”We all were a bit surprised that he didn’t come out at all, and you know, it worked in our favor. He was one of the few guys who sort of packed that power and he had that reach because he’s quite a tall guy.”Sarkar, who was one of Bangladesh’s batters in the Super Over, said that the captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz and coach Phil Simmons picked the batters for the Super Over.”The coach and captain took the decision,” Sarkar said. “We actually didn’t know Akeal Hosein would bowl. If two left-handers had gone in, and then an off-spinner came on, we would be in trouble. That’s why there was a lefty and a righty. You’ll see the same with their team; they also batted with a lefty [Sherfane Rutherford] and a righty [Shai Hope].”Hosein also shared the funny story about the unusually black coloured surface used for the first Bangladesh-West Indies ODI on Saturday.”I turned my TV on. The first thing that I did was check my TV, because I thought there was something wrong with it. I thought the color had gone or something like that. وتعرض برشلونة الإسباني لهزيمة بثلاثية نظيفة من نظيره تشيلسي الإنجليزي، على ملعب “ستامفورد بريدج” ضمن مباريات الجولة الخامسة لمرحلة الدوري في دوري الأبطال.

وقال فليك في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية: “أتيحت لنا فرصة التسجيل أولاً، لكن مع قلة عدد اللاعبين، أصبح الأمر صعبًا، كافحنا بشراسة، رأيت بعض الإيجابيات، لكننا فقدنا الكرة كثيرًا، وخسرنا كرات سهلة تحت الضغط”.

وأردف: “سيكون من الصعب جدًا إنهاء مرحلة الدوري ضمن الثمانية الأوائل، لكن كل شيء ممكن، علينا أن نلعب بشراسة، لقد رأينا تشيلسي أكثر ديناميكية، وهذا ما أتمناه من فريقي، علينا أن نقاتل بقوة أكبر ونلعب بشراسة أكبر”.

وأشار: “ليس من السهل الفوز بلاعب أقل على هذا الفريق، لكنني متفائل بالمباريات القادمة، لدينا ثلاث مباريات متبقية، وأنا واثق من قدرتنا على الفوز بها، لكن اليوم ارتكبنا بعض الأخطاء، لم نستحوذ على الكرة، وارتكب بعض اللاعبين أخطاء”.

وواصل: “لم يكن ذلك كافيًا، لكن هناك إيجابيات، رافينها عاد، ماركوس راشفورد يلعب بشكل جيد، علينا أن نكون متفائلين، إذا حللنا المباراة، سنرى أننا لعبنا بلاعب أقل، وهذا له تأثير كبير، اللعب يكون أفضل بوجود لاعب إضافي، بالنسبة لتشيلسي، اللعب ضد عشرة لاعبين ميزة كبيرة”.

وأستطرد: “إنها مجرد مباراة واحدة، بدأنا بشكل جيد، مع فرص جيدة، وحصل فيران على بعضها، ثم مع غياب لاعب واحد، أصبح الأمر صعبًا للغاية، لم نلعب بالقوة المطلوبة، لكنني متفائل بالمستقبل”.

وعن طرد رونالد أراوخو، علّق: “لا أعرف ما حدث مع البطاقة الصفراء الأولى، عليّ التحدث معه ومشاهدة الفيديوهات، أما البطاقة الثانية فلم يكن عليه التدخل بهذه الطريقة، لكن هذه الأمور تحدث في كرة القدم، لم يكن الوقت مناسبًا أو اللعبة مناسبة، ولكن هكذا كانت الأمور”.

وأكد فليك: “سنرى برشلونة مختلفًا، أعدكم بذلك، أرى كيف نتدرب، بكثافة وجودة عالية، وهو مختلف عما كان عليه قبل بضعة أسابيع… لدي شعور جيد”.

أكد فهد الهاجري، لاعب منتخب الكويت، جاهزية الأزرق للمرحلة الحاسمة من التصفيات المؤهلة لكأس العرب، مشيرًا إلى أن الفريق يدخل مباراة موريتانيا بطموح كبير لاستعادة حضوره في البطولات العربية.

ويستعد المنتخب الكويتي لمواجهة نظيره الموريتاني عصر الثلاثاء المُقبل، على أن يلتحق الفائز بالمجموعة الثالثة التي تضم مصر والأردن والإمارات.

وقال الهاجري في تصريحاته لموقع “فيفا”: “بالتأكيد الطموح عالٍ جدًا لدى اللاعبين ولدى المنتخب الكويتي بشكل عام، نطمح أن نشارك في كأس العرب، خصوصًا وأننا لم نكن مشاركين في النسخة الماضية، وبإذن الله سننجح في التأهل ونكون ضمن المنتخبات المشاركة في البطولة”.

وأضاف: “دائمًا، والحمد لله، الثقة موجودة لدينا نحن اللاعبين، المباراة ستكون مباراة صعبة جدًا، خصوصًا وأن المنتخب الموريتاني في الآونة الأخيرة يقدم مستويات كبيرة، مباراة يوم 25 نوفمبر ستكون صعبة للغاية، لكن نحن كلاعبين تركيزنا منصب على أن نفوز في هذه المباراة ونحقق التأهل بإذن الله”.

وتابع حديثه عن مواجهة المغرب وديًا: “الجميع يدركون قوة المنتخب المغربي، سواء بالصف الأول أو الثاني، لقد واجهنا الصف الثاني، وكان قويًا جدًا، استفدنا كثيرًا من تلك المباراة، وسنعمل على تطوير الجوانب السلبية وتصحيحها، والاستفادة من الإيجابيات التي أظهرناها خلال المباراة”.

وعند سؤاله عن الفوارق بين المنتخبات العربية الآسيوية والإفريقية، أجاب: “طبعًا، الكل شاهد البطولة الأخيرة في كأس العرب، والتي حققها المنتخب الجزائري أمام المنتخب التونسي، المنتخبات الإفريقية قوية جدًا، ولكن المنتخبات الآسيوية أيضًا تقدم مستويات قريبة جدًا، لذلك أتوقع منافسة قوية هذا العام بين المنتخبات العربية الإفريقية والآسيوية”.

وأشار: “هدفنا الأول حاليًا هو تجاوز مباراة موريتانيا، وبعدها، الجميع يعرف قوة منتخبات مجموعتنا؛ الإمارات والأردن منتخبات قوية جدًا، أما منتخب مصر فهو معروف بقوته سواء بالصف الأول أو الثاني، اللعب أمام منتخبات ولاعبين بهذا المستوى أمر يتمناه أي لاعب، وبإذن الله يكون لنا نصيب في التأهل لخوض هذه المنافسات”.

واستطرد: “الجميع يعلمون أن المنتخب الكويتي في الفترة الأخيرة يعيش حالة من التذبذب في المستوى، لكن دائمًا حاضر بقوة، ويدخل أي بطولة بهدف المنافسة على لقبها”.

واختتم: “سنقدّم ما يجب علينا تقديمه، وبإذن الله قادرون هذا العام على أن نضع بصمة كبيرة، وأن نعيد المنتخب إلى أيام الفرح والأيام الجميلة التي عشناها في السابق”.

The 15,548 fans in attendance at loanDepot Park on Thursday night got a chance to witness baseball history, as Shohei Ohtani became the first player in MLB history to notch at least 50 homers and 50 stolen bases in a single season.

Only one of those 15,548 fans walked out of the ballpark with a piece of history, however.

A video posted to social media Thursday night depicted the frantic scene in left field after Ohtani smacked his record-breaking 50th home run. One fan barely missed catching the ball over the railing, and once it fell down to the ground, a swarm of fans all battled for it.

A man wearing a black T-shirt appeared to be the winner of the Ohtani pursuit.

According to MLB Network's Craig Mish, that fan met with Dodgers officials in an attempt to work out an exchange, but he opted to keep the ball and walked out of loanDepot Park with it.

There's no knowing for sure what the ball is worth, but other historic baseballs have gone for lucrative prices in recent years. Aaron Judge's 62nd home run ball that broke the American League's single-season record in 2022 was sold for $1.5 million to an anonymous bidder.
