Glasgow Rangers’ troubles away from home continued as they failed to win on their travels yet again in the Premiership on Thursday evening.
Dundee took the lead via some clumsy defending from debutant Clinton Nsiala, who failed to properly clear the ball, allowing Oluwaseun Adewumi to slot home the opener.

The home side may well have had a penalty just before Vaclav Cerny netted an equaliser for the Light Blues, but that was as good as it got for Philippe Clement’s side during a drab 1-1 draw.
The Gers now find themselves trailing Celtic by 15 points. With the title all but done, what does Clement’s future look like?
There were very few positives to take from the draw, with far too many of the starting XI delivering poor performances all over the pitch.
Rangers away woes continue against Dundee
Hamza Igamane was given another start following his treble against Hibs last weekend, but he failed to offer anywhere near the same threat at Dens Park, registering zero shots and losing possession 25 times during his time on the pitch.
Clinton Nsiala was perhaps a surprise selection at centre-back, but due to injuries, Clement didn’t have much choice.
The youngster took a while to get into the game, but he finished with a pass success rate of 89% while winning 100% of his ground duels, indicating some quality.

Arguably the worst player on the pitch was Ridvan Yilmaz, who was playing out of position on the right side of the defence due to James Tavernier missing out through injury.

Ridvan Yilmaz’s game in numbers vs Dundee
Defensively, the Turk was extremely poor. Not only did he win zero of the four total duels he contested, but the left-back managed to lose possession 19 times, failing to get the better of Adewumi on that side of the pitch.
Yilmaz is usually better going forward when operating in his usual position, but on Thursday evening, he looked a shadow of the player he looked during the stunning win against Celtic earlier this year.
Indeed, he attempted two dribbles, yet failed with both, while also delivering four crosses into the opposition box, but not one was accurate. If Clement was relying on Yilmaz to provide an extra attacking threat, then he failed to get it out of the former Besiktas gem.
Former footballer turned pundit Rory Loy criticised the player during the game, saying: “Ridvan Yilmaz has had a night to forget, it’s not been great. He’s playing on the wrong side, but he’s made a few mistakes.”
Injury problems haven’t helped Clement, but he cannot use that as an excuse, especially when Dundee could only name seven substitutes for the match, with two being goalkeepers due to their own injury problems.
Patrick Stewart now faces a decision. Does he relieve Clement of his duties? Or will the new CEO stick with the Belgian?
If he does, the next few months could be interesting indeed.

However, New Zealand will be without fast bowler Adam Milne and left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner. While Milne has a tight Achilles that’s troubling him, Santner joined the squad only on Saturday after he had tested positive for Covid last Sunday, and couldn’t depart from New Zealand with the rest of the squad.Shane Jurgensen, New Zealand’s head coach for the Ireland tour, also confirmed Henry Nicholls would bat in the middle order for them.”Excited to announce there’s going to be two guys representing New Zealand for the first time in one-day internationals: Finn Allen, who’ll be opening the batting, and Glenn Phillips in the middle order,” Jurgensen said in a video posted by NZC on Twitter. “Both players have done extremely well in the T20 arena and it’s a fantastic opportunity to represent New Zealand tomorrow. Really excited to see how they come out in the first game of the series.”New Zealand are touring Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands without a number of first-choice players such as regular captain Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Devon Conway. WHAT HAPPENED?
Ward and Mahrez moved to the Middle East when the Premier League and Champions League winner was signed by the Saudi Pro League side in 2023. The pair, who feature in Amazon's documentary, have been open about their switch. Ward had expressed serious concerns about making the move, but now claims to the that she is happy in Saudi Arabia.

WHAT WARD SAID
Ward explained: "“I feel way safer in Saudi – I can actually sleep at night now.
“My house in Saudi is ten times bigger than my house in England, and if I had to stay on my own somewhere, I would choose Saudi every day of the week.
“There’s so many burglaries and bad things going on especially in Cheshire. It’s a massive problem.
“Living abroad now is great because I don’t bring anything home. It’s not worth it because we’ve been burgled in the past and it puts you off having nice things.
“I used to say to Riyad, ‘please don’t buy me a watch for my birthday, please don’t buy me these because I don’t want to be a target.’
“Now that we live in Saudi, you actually get the opportunity to enjoy and wear nice things.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
It must be acknowledged that Ward has not been living a typical life since their move to Saudi Arabia, given her husband is earning a reported £841,708 ($1,087,460) weekly salary. It also marks a sharp change in attitude from a year ago, where she explained: "I feel like it is so hard, there are times I can’t, I just don’t like it.
"I won’t lie, I had a freak out yesterday. I rang the hotel to ask 'I’m coming with my baby, what do people wear around the pool', I know it is a lot more conservative there and you have to dress a certain way.
"I said 'I just want to check when I come with a baby what is the best thing to wear, do I need to wear something covered if I am going in the water?'
"They were like 'oh no sorry, it’s just a man’s pool, it is just a gents pool'".

After taking in another heated derby date with old adversaries Gala, Mourinho was seen tangling with his opposite managerial number. He grabbed at the face of Okan Buruk, leading to the Galatasaray boss writhing on the floor.

Further disciplinary action could be on the cards for Mourinho, but Fener have made a point of addressing actions that they believe should never have happened and were ultimately blown out of proportion.

Getty Images SportWHAT FENERBAHCE SAID
A statement from the Istanbul-based giants reads: "This is our statement regarding Okan Buruk, who approached our Technical Director Jose Mourinho, who was meeting with the referees after the match yesterday, under the pretext of shaking their hands, provoked our Technical Director with hand gestures and statements, and had the audacity to make disrespectful hand gestures after crossing the police line.
"After our Technical Director momentarily touched his nose in response to these provocations, the person in question threw himself on the ground in an exaggerated manner.
"The disrespectful words and actions of this person, who professionally threw himself to the ground as if he had been shot as a continuation of his planned and excessive provocations, are recorded with images. The meaninglessness and the acting of a person who jumps to the ground and writhes for seconds when his nose is touched is known to the entire public.
"It is obvious that the images of this person throwing himself to the ground from his football career continued in his career as a coach, and that this attitude is a characteristic stance. It is clear that the evaluation of the ugly provocations and what happened afterwards should not be one-sided, but should be based on a cause-and-effect relationship."
Celtic have now made contact over a deal for an “exciting” forward who could be brought in to replace Kyogo Furuhashi this month, according to a report.
Furuhashi catching the eye at Celtic
Furuhashi has been one of the Hoops’ top performers for a number of years now, and he has continued to impress this season, picking up eight goals and three assists in 20 Scottish Premiership outings.
As such, the Japan international has started to attract attention from elsewhere, with a report from last month revealing that MLS side Atlanta United were preparing a £10m bid, having first made their interest clear last summer.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are in an extremely strong position to win the Scottish Premiership title yet again, with rivals Rangers recently slipping up against Hibernian and Dundee, despite winning the derby at Ibrox earlier in the month.
As such, the Celtic manager may not feel too many changes are necessary this winter, but a plan is now in place for if Kyogo departs Parkhead.
Celtic now set to accelerate move to sign £7m Maeda heir for Rodgers
The Bhoys have set their sights on an attacking addition.

According to a report from The Express, the Hoops are looking to revamp their attacking options, and they have now identified an ideal replacement for the Japanese forward.
Contact has been made with Mathias Kvistgaarden’s camp since the January transfer window opened, with Kyogo’s future still in doubt amid the interest from Atlanta United.
Celtic are unlikely to make a move for Kvistgaarden this month, unless Kyogo departs the club, but he is well liked by key figures at Parkhead, who have now been tracking him for 18 months.
Brondby are keen to keep hold of the forward until the end of the season, as he has been in fantastic form, but a January move is not out of the question, should a suitable offer be tabled, amid growing interest from clubs in England and Germany.
Kvistgaarden impressing in Denmark
The 22-year-old has been in fine form in Denmark this season, weighing in with 10 goals and four assists in 15 league outings, so it is clear to see why the Hoops are so keen on a move.
Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has lauded the Dane as an “exciting” talent in the past, and his performances in his home country indicate he could be ready to take the next step in his career by moving to Parkhead.
However, it would be a shame to see Kyogo leave the club, given how big a part the forward has played in Celtic’s success over the past few years, but he will be turning 30 in just over a week’s time, and it is important that Rodgers plans for the future.
As such, Celtic should continue to monitor Kvistgaarden’s performances between now and the end of the season to make sure he would be a suitable replacement for the number 8, who will be a very tough act to follow.

WHAT’S NEXT?
While the LA Galaxy have enjoyed countless trophies and accolades over the years, the 2025 MLS season hasn’t started well for the reigning MLS Cup champions. They sit at the bottom of the Western Conference. They face Austin FC next on April 18 which is followed by a home game against the Portland Timbers on April 27.
Celtic are back in action in the Scottish Premiership once again as they prepare to welcome Dundee United to Parkhead with the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table.
A win for Brendan Rodgers and his men would see the Hoops move a staggering 16 points clear of Rangers in second place, with the Scottish giants on course to win a fourth straight title.
The Bhoys head into this match off the back of a comfortable 3-0 win over St Mirren last time out, thanks to a brace from Nicolas Kuhn and a header from Auston Trusty.
With this game coming in the middle of the park, Rodgers could look to rotate and refresh his starting XI. One player who should come in as part of that rotation is Paulo Bernardo.
Why Paulo Bernardo should start
The 22-year-old midfielder, who joined on a permanent deal from Benfica in the summer window, has shown plenty of signs of promise in the Premiership this season, after his initial loan spell with the club last term.
Bernardo has improved his play in and out of possession for the Hoops and proven himself to be more than a solid option in the middle of the park for Rodgers.

As you can see in the table above, the Portuguese starlet has added more creativity to his game and vastly improved defensively, with almost twice as many tackles and interceptions per match.
Bernardo did not, however, play a single minute against St Mirren and should be given a chance to start this time, potentially in place of Luke McCowan.
He is not the only player who should be offered an opportunity to shine from the start, though, as left-back Alex Valle should also be unleashed.
Why Alex Valle should be unleashed
The Barcelona loanee, like Bernardo, has shown that he has the ability to make a big impact when he gets the chance to be in the starting line-up at Premiership level.
In order to start Valle, Rodgers must ruthlessly bin Greg Taylor, who is reportedly wanted by Dinamo Zagreb and recently dropped a 5/10 player rating in the League Cup final against Rangers, giving the ball away for Nedim Bajrami’s opening goal in the match.
Taylor lost possession a whopping 22 times without creating a single chance for his teammates in the win over St Mirren, and the Spaniard has the potential to offer more than the Scottish dud on the ball.
Valle, who was hailed as a “top-notch” defender by former coach Oscar Lopez, has provided three assists and made 14 key passes in just six starts in the Premiership so far this term.
This shows that the 20-year-old dynamo, who did not play a single minute against St Mirren, has the ability to make a big impact at the top end of the pitch, after Taylor struggled badly in possession last time out.

Therefore, Rodgers should bin the Dinamo Zagreb target Taylor from the starting line-up and bring Valle and Bernardo back into the XI this evening.
Vitor Pereira has enjoyed a solid start to life as Wolverhampton Wanderers manager, defeating Leicester City and Manchester United before securing a draw against Tottenham Hotspur in his opening games at the helm.
The 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest will sting, but considering the Reds are challenging for a place in the top four, perhaps it wasn’t surprising. Pereira will now turn his focus to the January transfer window in a bid to improve his squad, with several areas needing to be bolstered as we enter the second half of the season.

Much will depend on what budget he will have to make improvements, as he could be forced to sell a player or two if the money is right to raise some funds.
As such, who are the rumoured targets doing the rounds recently? And who might be on the move away from Molineux?
Potential Wolves incomings
Tim Kleindienst (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Tim Kleindienst
If the Old Gold wish to remain in the Premier League beyond this season, adding more firepower is a priority.
Matheus Cunha may have scored ten goals this term, while Jorgen Strand Larsen has chipped in with seven, but more will be needed over the next few months.
According to German outlet BILD (via Sport Witness), Wolves have shown an interest in striker Tim Kleindienst ahead of a potential move this month.
He only joined Gladbach last summer from Heidenheim, scoring a total of nine goals while registering six assists across the first six months of the season.
Wolves have already made an enquiry for the striker, while Gladbach managing director Roland Virkus has claimed there have been other requests, saying: “Of course there are requests, that’s completely normal if you perform well. But we don’t want to let any of the top players go because something is happening here.”
Given he is still fairly new to Gladbach, Pereira might have to break the bank in order to lure the German frontman to the Midlands this month.
Hakim Ziyech (Galatasaray)
Hakim Ziyech for Galatasaray.
According to reports in Turkey (via Sport Witness), Wolves are one of the clubs taking an interest in Galatasaray winger Hakim Ziyech, who has just six months left on his contract with the Turkish giants.
The Moroccan winger enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with the club, scoring eight times while chipping in with four assists in all competitions, and he joined on a permanent basis once the season finished.
This season has been a different story, however. Ziyech has struggled majorly, failing to find the back of the net in 11 appearances and expressing his desire to escape. Could Wolves offer an exit route?
The 31-year-old Champions League winner has Premier League experience, featuring 64 times in the competition for Chelsea between 2020 and 2023, which could indicate that he may still have plenty to offer if he was to return to England this month.
Dan Ballard (Sunderland)
While strengthening his attacking options should be a priority for Pereira, bringing in another defender or two could also be advantageous.
In the top flight this term, the Old Gold have conceded 45 goals, the most in the Premier League, highlighting the need for improvement at the back.
Sunderland defender Dan Ballard was a player linked towards the tail end of 2024, and he could be an interesting signing.
Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion are just a few other clubs keeping an eye on the former Arsenal defender, suggesting competition will be stiff.
The Northern Irishman has made 13 appearances for the Black Cats so far this term, with the club conceding just 13 goals whenever he has featured in the Championship.
Hailed as a “natural leader” by Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill, could Ballard be the centre-back Pereira requires in the second half of the campaign?
Renato Veiga (Chelsea)
According to the Daily Mail, Wolves have emerged as candidates to sign Chelsea defender Renato Veiga this month, with Bournemouth rivalling them for his signature.
Veiga only joined the Blues last summer, but has found chances hard to come by under Enzo Maresca, not helped by an inflated squad at Stamford Bridge. Able to play at left-back and centre-back, he could add some versatility to the Wolves defence.
Across his 17 appearances, the youngster has managed to score twice and grab an assist, suggesting that he can offer a decent attacking threat, which could come in handy for the Old Gold.
Potential Wolves departures
Sam Johnstone (Rangers)
Sam Johnstone only made the move to Wolves last summer, yet he has only made seven Premier League appearances throughout the season, with none coming under Pereira.
The new man in charge looks like he prefers compatriot Jose Sa to the Englishman, and this could perhaps ensure Johnstone’s departure from the club sooner rather than later.
He has recently been touted with a move north of the border to Rangers, but whether the Molineux side will want to let him go so soon after joining remains to be seen, particularly as a swift replacement will likely be required.
Mario Lemina (linked with Al-Shabab)
Mario Lemina was voted as Wolves’ Supporters’ Player of the Season after an impressive 2023/24 campaign which saw him miss just three Premier League matches, scoring four times in the process.
It perhaps comes as a surprise that he could be on his way just six months later, but it appears as though the club are willing to sanction his departure after a rocky patch for the midfielder.
Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab have been credited with an interest in the Gabon star, who was stripped of the captaincy after the loss to West Ham United a few weeks ago, which placed his future in doubt.
With just a few months left on his current contract, Pereira will ideally seek a fee to move Lemina on this month while managing to get his £45k-per-week salary off the wage bill in the process.
A move clearly makes sense for everyone involved, and it is now a case of just how much Wolves will make on the player they signed in the winter window back in 2023.
