Here’s a detailed look at Spurs' top 10 sales… 10 Robbie Keane £19m to Liverpool, 2008

Robbie Keane was Spurs’ star player and captain back in 2008, so it was a real blow when Liverpool took him to Anfield for £19m. The transfer fee could have surpassed £20m, but we doubt the Irishman met the required add-ons.

Daniel Levy publicly spoke of their disappointment that Keane wanted a move away, but six months later, Keane was back at Tottenham on a permanent transfer after struggling to become a regular on Merseyside.

9 Heung-min Son £20m to LAFC, 2025

A Tottenham icon, Heung-min Son lifted Spurs’ first trophy in 17 years following the club’s Europa League triumph in 2025, but months later, the South Korea forward left north London for the MLS.

The attacker departed for LAFC in a deal worth £20m, with Son scoring 173 goals in 454 games for Spurs, proving to be worth every penny of the £22m Tottenham spent in 2015.

8 Kieran Trippier £20m to Atletico Madrid, 2019

Kieran Trippier’s final game for Tottenham came at Atletico Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium in the 2019 Champions League final. It would end up being his new club home after Spurs sold him to Diego Simeone’s side for £20m that summer.

Trippier has since become a La Liga winner and returned to the Premier League with Newcastle United, where he helped them qualify for the Champions League.

7 Oliver Skipp £25m to Leicester City, 2024

After coming through the academy and making more than 100 first-team appearances, midfielder Oliver Skipp was sold by Spurs for a reported £25m in 2024.

Leicester City were happy to pay big for Skipp after winning promotion, with the player signing a five-year deal. For a player who didn’t quite reach his potential at Tottenham, it wasn’t the worst deal in the world.

6 Steven Bergwijn £26m to Ajax, 2022

Tottenham signed Steven Bergwijn in January 2020 in the hope that he’d further boost a very exciting attacking lineup under Jose Mourinho.

However, the Dutchman rarely started and wasn’t the attacking threat Spurs had invested in. Eight goals in 83 appearances isn’t exactly worth what they paid for him, so they did well to bring in a £26m fee in 2022.

5 Luka Modric £30m to Real Madrid, 2012

Luka Modric’s performances over a four-year period at White Hart Lane caught the eye of Real Madrid in 2012, who took the Croatia international to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2012 for £30m.

The midfielder went on to star in Spain and even won the Ballon d’Or in 2018, so the £30m fee is probably looked back on as a bargain for Madrid.

4 Dimitar Berbatov £30.75m to Man Utd, 2008

Stylish striker Dimitar Berbatov struck up a brilliant relationship with Robbie Keane in north London, with the former scoring 46 goals in 102 games.

Despite having Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United added Berbatov to their ranks in 2008, and he’d go on to win six honours with the Red Devils in four years following his £30.75m transfer from Spurs.

3 Kyle Walker £50m to Man City, 2017

Kyle Walker became the world’s most expensive defender when he joined Manchester City from Tottenham in 2017 for £50m, with the England international going on to win everything under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.

Walker is arguably England’s greatest-ever right-back, but at the time, Tottenham had Kieran Trippier waiting in the wings, so were seemingly happy to cash in on him for such a large sum.

2 Gareth Bale £85.3m to Real Madrid, 2013

Gareth Bale followed Modric to Real Madrid in 2013 after starring in north London. The Wales international cost Real more than they had paid for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009, with the transfer a world-record €100m (£85.3m) at the time.

Bale would go on to win 15 honours at the Bernabeu, including five Champions League titles. He scored 106 goals in 258 appearances in a Madrid shirt.

1 Harry Kane £86.4m to Bayern Munich, 2023

Topping the charts as Tottenham’s record departure is record goalscorer Harry Kane, who brought in £86.4m when he joined Bayern Munich in 2023.

The striker was linked with a Spurs exit on numerous occasions during his 13-year spell as a professional in north London, but it was the Bundesliga and Bayern that persuaded him to leave Tottenham. Kane, as expected, has gone on to continue to score for fun in Germany.

Sai Sudharsan: I have 'a lot of things to improve' in my T20 game

Gujarat Titans (GT) opener Sai Sudharsan, the current Orange Cap holder, played a crucial role in his team making it to the IPL 2025 playoffs, but believes he has “a lot of things to improve” in his T20 game. Sai Sudharsan has already made his white-ball debuts for India and has also been picked for the upcoming five-Test series in England starting next month, but wants to improve on a few more things before he plays T20s again.”I mean, playing for the country is obviously a dream for everybody, so I would love to do that,” he said when asked about his chances for the T20 World Cup next year after GT crashed out of the IPL in the Eliminator. “But I’m not thinking on those lines because if you see about the season, I have a lot of things to improve as a T20 batter. There are so many facets of the game, or so many sectors, I should improve when I play T20 again. So I’m focusing more on that. Of course, when I get an opportunity, I will give my best for the country.”It’s good to see that I had a good season or I was consistent enough for my team, but I think when the job is not finished, you don’t get the ultimate satisfaction when you get back home. So, definitely, there’s a lot of disappointment in the [team] environment because of the way we played the first 12 or 13 games, which was fantastic to see as a group or as a team from outside. Even when in hindsight you look at a season like this, I think our team was so good they did a lot of jobs really well. So finishing a tournament like this, definitely it doesn’t give that complete satisfaction. But, yeah, appreciating the performances and of course learning from it is the is the thing forward.”Related

Sai Sudharsan top-scored for GT against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday night, with a stroke-filled 80 off 49 balls that kept the stiff chase of 229 in the balance till he was around. But after he was bowled by Richard Gleeson in the 16th over, the equation reading 59 from 26 after the dismissal, GT fell away.GT captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan did a lot of the heavy lifting among the GT batters this season, scoring 912 runs as an opening pair, the third-highest tally in an IPL season. But the responsibility fell on Sai Sudharsan’s shoulders early in the chase against MI as Gill fell for 1 in the opening over, and there was no Jos Buttler, the team’s third-highest scorer, to follow as he had left for national duties. Kusal Mendis replaced Buttler in the XI but he was hit wicket for 20.B Sai Sudharsan crossed 700 runs in IPL 2025•Getty Images

“Yes, definitely a batter like Shubi when he gets out, it creates a little difficulty in the environment and of course in the game of play,” Sai Sudharsan said. “So, again, I was aware of it and it was clear that we know how Kusal can play. We’ve seen him play quite a lot of times in the nets, so I was confident enough that we could get those runs, of course. And I was believing in myself, I was even telling Kusal that we can definitely do it if we have a good play. And likewise, we had a fantastic powerplay. I think we believe more on ourselves and took the game forward and the game was on course for a long period of time.”Sai Sudharsan and Mendis powered GT to 66 for 1 in the powerplay, and even after Mendis fell three balls after the field spread out, Washington Sundar and Sai Sudharsan kept the pressure on MI with a partnership of 84 off just 44 balls that took GT to 100 in the tenth over. There was, however, a brief stoppage of play when Suryakumar Yadav got some treatment after the 13th over and the partnership was broken four balls later.Did that stoppage break a team’s momentum?”I mean, it can. It can definitely make a difference, but I feel we were aware of it,” Sai Sudharsan said. “That was a good thing about me and Washy, we had a conversation about it and we were together. We were not waiting for the game to start. We were just looking at what all things we have to see. I think it was 12th or 13th over. So we were aware of it because we’ve seen certain occurrences before, so we were having that conversation and thinking about what we have to do rather than, you know, losing that momentum there.”B Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar added 84 off just 44 balls•BCCI

One of the things that cost GT some extra runs was their sloppy fielding as they put down three catches, including two off Rohit Sharma in the powerplay, and the MI opener went on to score 81 off 50. Sai Sudharsan said “it could have cost a bit” because the ball was still swinging in the powerplay and it would not have been easy for a new batter coming in.Sai Sudharsan’s next assignment is the India A tour of England, which started on the same day as the Eliminator with the first four-day game in Canterbury. It remains to be seen if both Sai Sudharsan and Gill make it in time for the second fixture starting on June 6 in Northampton, but GT’s early elimination from the playoffs does give the duo extra time to fly out and get some red-ball game time.Sai Sudharsan has also played county cricket for Surrey, which was a “great experience” for him.”I think I played seven [county] games so it gave me a great experience, to be honest,” he said. “It improved my batting multiple-folds in terms of technique and in terms of basics. It told me basics are the most important thing in batting. So it should help me and I’ll focus more on what I learnt and I’ll try and be aware and create those awarenesses before going into the series.”

‘He will surely be awarded the MVP’ – Inter Miami’s Javier Mascherano hails Lionel Messi after hat-trick heroics against Nashville SC

Lionel Messi’s hat-trick powered Inter Miami to a 5-2 road win over Nashville SC to close out the MLS regular season in style, securing third place in the Eastern Conference. The Argentine star now sits on 29 goals, strengthening his case for a second straight MVP. The two sides will meet again in the first round of the playoffs.

    'Leo has been exceptional'

Inter Miami manager Javier Mascherano believes Messi's emphatic regular season finale encapsulates his impact on the season. The eight-time Ballon d'Or winner led MLS in assists with 19.

"The reality is that Leo has been exceptional, as he usually is," Mascherano said. "I think if anyone had doubts about his regular season, he has cleared them all. He will surely be awarded the MVP."

Despite the strong result, Cincinnati's win over Charlotte prevented Inter Miami from finishing second in the Eastern Conference. The Herons' third-place finish means they will face Nashville again in the opening round of the playoffs.

"I was hopeful that maybe Cincinnati wouldn’t get the win – it didn’t happen. Now we face [Nashville] again on Friday, and from that moment on, you’re playing for your entire season," Mascherano said.

    Defense the focus

Inter Miami conceded 55 goals this season, which ranks fifth-worst in the Eastern Conference. With the team aiming to lift its first MLS Cup, Mascherano stressed his team can't afford the lapses it showed during the season in the playoffs.

"We can’t fool ourselves; now we enter the decisive part, and every moment counts. We can’t make those mistakes again," he said.

Two Coventry City stars may now miss Sheffield Wednesday after fresh injury news

As they look to maintain their impressive form against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, Coventry City may have to do so without two players following the latest injury news.

Lampard: Coventry "spot on" in Millwall thrashing

Frank Lampard is doing an excellent job at Coventry. The former Chelsea manager is reviving his career in the technical area and has transformed the Sky Blues from a frustrated mid-table side into serious play-off hopefuls, and that transformation was on show for all to see against Millwall.

Hagi Wright’s brace, followed by goals from Ellis Simms and Kaine Kesler-Hayden from the bench saw the visitors secure a 4-0 rout of their London opposition and move into the automatic promotion spot after eight Championship games.

Still unbeaten and not slowing down, Lampard was full of praise for his side in his post-match reaction – saying: “A really good performance because that’s a tough place to come – it’s a strong squad, strong team they have and the feeling is the stadium is hard to come here and get tight wins, let alone finish the way we did.

“Everything was spot-on from the lads in a busy week – to come here in the middle of the week is a tough challenge. It was great how we started the game, great how we dealt with everything in between, great how we finished the game.”

Up next for Coventry is a trip to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday. The Sky Blues will be hoping to avoid any upset against a side dominated by struggles away from the pitch rather than any progress on it.

This time around, however, Lampard’s side may have to maintain their unbeaten run without two of their star players following the latest injury news.

Update on Torp and Eccles' injuries

As revealed by Lampard, Coventry could be without Victor Torp and Josh Eccles against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. The duo were forced off through injury in the second half and face a race against time to travel to Hillsborough.

Lampard seemed fairly relaxed about both injuries in his reaction. Whether that’s a good indication as to how serious they are will be interesting to see, but it would come as no surprise if Saturday came too soon for both Torp and Eccles. The big task that the Sky Blues manager now has is finding replacements for two fresh injury concerns.

Jamie Carragher says Liverpool star is the "Thierry Henry" of his position

The highest praise that anyone in the Premier League can receive is a comparison with Thierry Henry. The Arsenal legend is one of, if not the greatest players in the competition’s history. He arrived in North London as a young player who initially found it tough against the physicality of English football. Years later, however, he left as an Invincible icon.

Not Isak or Ekitike: Slot has found the new Suarez in Liverpool's "unicorn"

This Liverpool star could certainly leave a legacy for the ages in the Premier League.

ByAngus Sinclair Sep 16, 2025

The former striker is, of course, so often the talk of North London, but what makes him so special is how rival clubs also speak about his greatness.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been among those to speak so highly about Henry over the years, once telling reporters: “He’s the kind of player that you need forever, especially in the Premier League where he was more than any other place.

“He was okay in Barcelona and the (France) national team, but the real Thierry Henry, the player that we are all going to miss forever, is the one that made unbelievable seasons and incredible history in the Premier League.”

There have been plenty of players to receive comparisons with the former Gunner, too. Liverpool’s record signing Alexander Isak is often likened to the Frenchman in style, but it remains to be seen whether the Swede can match his legacy when all is said and done.

That said, it’s not Isak that Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher decided to compare with the Arsenal legend. Instead, he named another player who he believes is the Henry of his position.

Carragher: Van Dijk is the "Henry of centre-backs"

Speaking on CBS’ coverage of the Champions League following Liverpool’s late victory against Atletico Madrid, Carragher claimed that Virgil van Dijk is the “Henry of centre-backs” in what is the highest praise that he could offer the Dutchman. Fresh from a winning goal against Atletico, it’s clear to see why the Reds skipper has been compared to a player of Henry’s class.

With two Premier League titles, a Champions League medal and everything in between, it’s hard to argue with Carragher’s statement. Van Dijk is imperious and is arguably ageing like fine wine at the heart of Arne Slot’s backline.

For all of Liverpool’s impressive spending in the summer, their best deal may well have been their captain’s new contract. Renewing alongside Mohamed Salah, Van Dijk set the tone of what was to come and may now reap the rewards for doing so. One more league title would of course take the Dutchman one above Henry.

Chelsea player ratings vs Nottingham Forest: Pedro Neto shows Alejandro Garnacho how it's done as Malo Gusto earns one of the silliest red cards ever

Chelsea made it back-to-back Premier League victories with a 3-0 win over troubled Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon. Second-half goals from Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto and captain Reece James saw the Blues build on their last-gasp triumph over Liverpool and heap more misery on under-fire Forest manager Ange Postecoglou at the City Ground.

Feeling the absence of midfield stars Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez – the former on the bench with the latter missing out completely – Chelsea struggled in possession as Forest passed up chances to score through Elliot Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White. Despite being second best in the first half, the visitors almost took the lead through Andrey Santos but the young Brazilian fired wide of the post.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, serving a one-match touchline ban following his dismissal against Liverpool, rang the changes at half-time, bringing on Caicedo, Jamie Gittens and Marc Guiu, and his substitutions were effective, injecting much-needed energy into his side's play. And the west Londoners soon took the lead in the second half when Acheampong headed home Neto's pinpoint cross after 49 minutes. The Portugal winger was soon at it again as he doubled his side's advantage just three minutes later with a free-kick which found its way past Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels.

Forest continued to pose a threat but it was simply not their day in front of goal, as Neco Williams blazed over from close range before Igor Jesus hit the crossbar. And the hosts' misery was compounded when James netted a third for Chelsea, who were reduced to 10 men late on when Malo Gusto – already on a caution – was given a second yellow card for a reckless tackle on Williams.

Josh Acheampong (7/10):

Brave on the ball, making forward runs to drive Chelsea up the pitch, the young defender gave his side the lead with a second-half header.

Trevoh Chalobah (5/10):

A threat all afternoon, his cross was headed home by Acheampong before he doubled Chelsea's lead with a free-kick.

Andrey Santos (4/10):

Alejandro Garnacho (4/10):

Unable to get into the game, he fell over more times than he got past his man. Substituted at half-time.

Joao Pedro (7/10):

Despite receiving little service at times, he was effective by dropping deep to bring Chelsea forward.

Moises Caicedo (6/10):

Brought on at half-time, he helped Chelsea look after the ball better.

Jamie Gittens (5/10):

Marc Guiu (7/10):

Working tirelessly up top, he was brought down for the free-kick which Neto scored from.

Estevao (6/10):

He curled in the corner which brought about James' late strike for Chelsea.

Tosin Adarabioyo (N/A):

He was brought on too late to make an impact.

Enzo Maresca (8/10):

Working from the stands due to his one-match touchline ban, he was proactive following Chelsea's poor first-half, making three quickfire substitutions that helped deliver the win.

Record Ahmed-Hill stand gives Foxes the upper hand

They put on 256, a Championship-best for Leicestershire’s third wicket against Lancashire

ECB Reporters Network supported by Rothesay24-May-2025A record-breaking partnership between Rehan Ahmed and Lewis Hill gave league-leading Leicestershire a dominant position at the end of the second day of the Rothesay County Championship match against Lancashire at the Uptonsteel County Ground.Ahmed, with his first-class best of 136, and Hill, whose 119 was his first three-figure score for two seasons, put on 256 for the third wicket, a championship-best for Leicestershire’s third wicket against Lancashire, beating a record dating back to 1929.Lancashire’s bowlers stuck at their task, picking up seven wickets throughout the afternoon and evening sessions, but a half-century from all-rounder Ian Holland helped the Foxes close with an intimidating 251 run lead. They also picked up all five batting bonus points, completing a maximum bonus point return from the game. The partnership between Hill and Ahmed, not out overnight on 29 and 26 respectively, was all the more admirable for the fact conditions at the start of play were very much in the bowlers’ favour, the previous day’s sunshine having given way to overnight rain and heavy cloud cover. The two right-handers faced a real battle for the first hour, with Lancashire seamers Tom Bailey and George Balderson both beating the bat on several occasions. No chances were created however, the nearest either batsman coming to dismissal being when Ahmed called Hill through for a single that would have sent his team-mate back to the pavilion had Josh Bohannon’s throw not missed the stumps by a whisker.Hill’s determination to be positive paid off however, notably when he walked down to the pitch to Will Williams and lofted the New Zealand-born seamer for the sweetest of straight sixes. Ahmed, while being impressively determined in defence, also began to unveil some characteristically flamboyant shots: both feet were off the ground when he flayed consecutive short deliveries from Anderson Phillip to the cover boundary before going to his 50 by whipping the same bowler through square leg.Hill was keeping pace, reaching his 50 with a top edged cut that sailed high over the slips. If that was unorthodox, two perfectly timed on-drives had the purists purring. By lunch 130 runs had been added to the score and the Lancashire attack was looking understandably deflated. They looked even more so an hour into the afternoon session, when Hill and Ahmed cut loose. They passed the county’s championship record third wicket partnership against Lancashire, 163 compiled by Walter Bradshaw and Norman Armstrong in 1929, and then the first class record of 165, compiled rather more recently by Ben Slater and Colin Ackermann in the Bob Willis Trophy in 2020 before Ahmed was first to a hundred – his second against Lancashire in as many matches. It came with a cut down to third, his 14th four, and occupied 164 balls. Hill followed, his century coming off 150 deliveries and including 14 fours and the six, and both accelerated thereafter before Ahmed sliced at drive at the left-arm spin of Tom Hartley, giving Keaton Jennings a straightforward catch at short third man.Hartley also picked up the wicket of Hill, caught behind cutting at a ball which bounced more than he expected, before captain Peter Handscomb edged an Anderson Phillip out-swinger to Jennings at second slip.A partnership of 76 between Holland and Ben Cox pushed Leicestershire close to 400 before Holland, Logan van Beek and the tail steered the Foxes past 450.

Paratici and Lange given Frank transfer wish after Tottenham approach for France star

Tottenham co-sporting directors Fabio Paratici and Johan Lange have been told a key signing that Thomas Frank wants to make at N17, with Spurs also having made contact over a France international star.

Paratici and Lange set for Tottenham transfer partnership

On Wednesday, Spurs announced Paratici’s long-awaited return to North London, following the Italian’s spell as managing director between 2021 and 2023.

FabioParatici formerly of Spurs and Juventus.

Paratici, after being forced into resigning due to a worldwide FIFA ban from football, worked as a consultant/advisor for ex-chair Daniel Levy thereafter, and took up that unofficial role during the summer window to assist Lange, CEO Vinai Venkatesham and Frank.

Once his FIFA ban expired, Paratici was repeatedly tipped to return to Tottenham as a director, but Levy’s departure after 25 years did briefly throw the move into doubt (talkSPORT).

Venkatesham eventually decided to appoint Paratici regardless of Levy’s exit, with the 53-year-old now partnering Lange as one of Tottenham’s two sporting directors.

As explained by Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, Lange and Paratici will have two very different roles, with the former overseeing scouting, the academy and data-driven recruitment analysis, while the latter operates as Tottenham’s proven ‘dealmaker’.

With Paratici and Lange set to back Frank in separate capacities, it is believed the Spurs boss has made one transfer wish crystal clear.

Frank wants new midfielder at Tottenham after approach for Khephren Thuram

According to journalist Graeme Bailey, via The Boot Room, Frank wants Tottenham to sign a new midfielder.

Despite already boasting Rodrigo Bentancur, Joao Palhinha, Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall and Pape Sarr in the engine room, midfield misfit Yves Bissouma is out of contract at the end of this season and very likely to leave.

The Mali international, partly due to injury, is yet to make a single competitive appearance under Frank and was left out of both their UEFA Super Cup squad and 22-man Champions League list.

Bissouma clearly doesn’t have a long-term future under Frank, with the Dane eager to bring in another player who can potentially replace the African in 2026.

Bailey adds that Tottenham made an approach to sign Juventus midfielder Khephren Thuram in the summer, but he’s going to be very hard to obtain now, with the Old Lady deeming him “untouchable” alongside Kenan Yildiz after an excellent start to 2025/2026.

With Spurs told to move on from the Frenchman, who’s worked his way into Didier Deschamps plans ahead of the World Cup next year, other reports suggest that Rangers star Nicolas Raskin has emerged as a Lilywhites target.

The Belgian is by far their standout player, and Premier League sides are taking note of his exploits, with Raskin’s contract also due to expire in under two years.

The 24-year-old would cost around £20-25 million to prise away from Ibrox — a surely doable price for Paratici and Lange — with a bid in and around that mark poised to make Raskin the Gers’ biggest ever sale.

Whether they go for Raskin or reach out for Thuram again, Frank personally wants to add another midfield technician to his ranks next year.

Paul Pogba facing another Monaco debut delay? Update on ex-Man Utd & Juventus star after serving ban & heading to Ligue 1

Paul Pogba could be facing another delay in his bid to make a competitive debut for Monaco, with the World Cup winner still working his way towards full match sharpness. Pogba has been out of action since September 2023, having been stung with a doping ban, and is yet to open a new adventure in Ligue 1 – with no unnecessary risks being taken on his fitness.

No date for debut: Pogba working on fitness

Monaco are delighted to have Pogba on board, as a proven performer at the very highest level, but are reluctant to rush the 32-year-old midfielder into their plans. He has been playing a full part in training, having overcome the odd knock, and is ready to force open the selection door.

No definite date is, however, being put in place for Pogba’s long-awaited bow. It was suggested at one stage that he could figure in a meeting with Angers on October 18, but that game has been and gone – along with more outings in domestic and Champions League competition.

Monaco boss Sebastien Pocognoli admits that former Manchester United and Juventus star Pogba may still be a matter of weeks away from gracing the field again, which could take him beyond the next international break in November.

Pocognoli said when delivering an update on Pogba: “We need to still push next week. That will be the best thing, so that he can be in the best conditions to make his return. There is great communication between him and the medical staff to allow him to be in the best conditions and as confident as possible.

“I am hoping that this upcoming week will answer our final questions. He is close, but there are still steps, notably doing a whole training session at 100%, which he has yet to do. I think we are still a few weeks away. We’ll see if that is before or after the international break, but in any case, it is great to see him back on the pitch and among his team-mates. It allows me to not only find out about the person off the pitch, but also now on it.”

Pogba patience: World Cup winner biding his time

Pogba is seeing his patience tested, but accepts that he needs to follow a process that will allow him to return in the best possible condition. He is desperate to get going after losing two years of his career.

Pogba has said: “I am a determined person, who wants to come back and who wants to enjoy myself on the pitch again especially, because that is what I miss the most. The objective is therefore to make my return to the highest level while taking the time necessary, and being patient. My daily life during these two years has been that of a very present dad. I would take my kids to school, then I would go to training… then I would pick them up from school.

“So I spent a lot of time with my family and training. Whenever I traveled, I would take my fitness coach with me to stay fit and miss as few sessions as possible. Because I always had this positive thought in mind, that I could return to the field at any time. Of course, there were moments of doubt, but I always wanted to look forward and towards the future. And looking at my kids, I told myself that I wanted them to see me play on the field! I dream of them celebrating one of my goals with a dab! That’s what pushed me to train, to maintain this discipline. Today I am very happy to be at AS Monaco and to return to the job I love.”

After signing for Monaco, Pogba suggested that he could force his way back into the France squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup. That dream appears to be fading, but anything remains possible.

He is preparing to grace Ligue 1 for the first time in his career and feels settled in new surroundings alongside wife Zulay and their children. Monaco have four more fixtures to take in before the next international break, starting with a trip to Nantes on Wednesday.
